<Enig123> Where can I find the u-boot you're using with the Nanopi R2S image?

<IgorPec> Enig123: currently you need to build from sources, perhaps binary in beta repostiory

<Enig123> @IgorPec, where can I find the exact source tree to begin with my own build?
<Werner> The by armbian supported way is using the build script which you can find here: https://github.com/armbian/build
<Werner> Use it to create a kernel package for your board. This will include a matching U-Boot package.

<IgorPec> Enig123: armbian is a build system, uses mainline or 3rd party sources and add changes mainly with patches. if you asking for a source where you will compile on your own by runing a make ... it does not exists. we only pack modified sources for kernel at this moment, for boot loader this is much more complicated since there are no standards
<IgorPec> we primarely support ARMBIAN, not u-boot, not your hardware

<lanefu> okay i'm losing my arbian skills
<lanefu> trying to figure out how u-boot choose which .dtb to load from the allwinner folder
<lanefu> in boot.cmd i see `load ${devtype} ${devnum} ${fdt_addr_r} ${prefix}dtb/${fdtfile}`
<lanefu> is it ${fdtfile} ? is that value you set at compile time
<lanefu> (i have an image for opi pc2, but i wanna point it to tritium h5 device tree for reasons)
<lanefu> okay cool yeah i just set the var and it seemed to work
maccraft has joined #armbian
<steev> lanefu: should be yeah
<steev> fdtfile is typically set by u-boot (but you can also override it)
<lanefu> yep.. i just overrode it and its working
<lanefu> woohoo
<lanefu> Im playing iwth the retrorangepi image on the tritiumh5
<c0rnelius> i just use my tritium as a bluetooth speaker now. couldn't find anything useful to do with it.
<IgorPec> lanefu: fdtfile=xxx to armbianEnv.txt and voila :)
<lanefu> ohh thats even easier :P

<lanefu> well... tritium seems to run RetrorangePi after a few little tweaks
<c0rnelius> lanefu: i've got that working before as well, but the gaming was no so good.
<c0rnelius> of course this was a ways back.
<lanefu> ropi is pretty good in general... N64 will always be a PITA on arm
<c0rnelius> if i recall i was getting black boxing all over the place when loading games.
<c0rnelius> coreelec on the le potato runs pretty good retro gaming. don't think i tried N64 though?
