@dmnelson (David Nelson): @zcichy I use an ODROID-HC1 running Armbian. Nothing fancy but pretty good bang for the buck. Not exactly plug and play though so I’d only recommend if you enjoy tinkering. (17s ago)

@_christianb_ (Christian BELLET): @tjlavoie This is the main reason. Raspbian did a pretty good job but now, Armbian is mature enough. There is a large panel of boards you can choose from. You can even have boards with a Sata port (Odroid HC2). On the opposite, Rpi is more limited. (24s ago)

IgorPec, something particular to take a look at when testing U-boot 2020.04 against devices?
<IgorPec>
no, just the basics - boot, few reboots
<IgorPec>
and display for u-boot is disabled by @jernej recommendation
<Werner>
Okay. Will do my build cycle on AR-196 and see what happens
<IgorPec>
perhaps one a64 device and some random that is not Opi PC2 or Nanopi M1 which I already tested
<Werner>
I can test OPi One, One Plus and Zero Plus H5
<IgorPec>
perfect

hello
<Werner>
Hi
<abananabread>
Can i ask if i can use ZFS with Armbian on a Nanopi m4?
<Werner>
Sure you can ask, however not sure if I can answer this question :D
<Werner>
Seems like it has been two years since the last time someone took a look into zfs with Armbian so well... it is not officially support obviously but you are always free to experiment with the tools that are provided :)
<abananabread>
i see..
<abananabread>
i'm a newbie when it comes to linux..
<abananabread>
i had in mind building a NAS with a Nanopi m4 + 4x sata hat with a distro that supports arm64...
<abananabread>
and can run ZFS...
<Werner>
Ah okay. I though you mean something like having ZFS as your root directory or something.
<Werner>
If you have your OS on the sd or emmc you can do with your SATA disks whatever you want including ZFS
<abananabread>
ah... i see....
<Werner>
As soon as Armbian runs on your sbc you can continue using manuals for the designated OS like Ubuntu Bionic or Debian Buster. Pretty sure there are ZFS tutorials for both out there.
