<IgorPec> morning
<patrixl> morning!
<patrixl> turns out I'm having this same problem as here, let me see if I can find the actual solution (don't want to bother with docker just yet) https://forum.armbian.com/topic/12463-new-build-installation-from-github-fails-on-download_and_verify/
<IgorPec> start from scratch?
<IgorPec> and paste the exact error you get
<IgorPec> it must work
<patrixl> same IPC error as there, and it's completely from scratch as I created a fresh ubuntu 18.04 VM and cloned the repo
<patrixl> but I just started from scratch again andw ill find out more whenever the download finishes
<IgorPec> moment. i have a clean VM for testing ... let me see
<patrixl> ok
<patrixl> from my searches so far, could be an issue with gpg-agent or something not starting properly
<patrixl> thing is 2 months ago I had no issues, same setup, so big question marks lol
<IgorPec> hmm, perhaps they changed something ... i am already building on 20.04
<IgorPec> but setup could be broken there as well ... checking
<patrixl> sure
<patrixl> well download is insuferrably slow right now, it's not even using torrent either
<IgorPec> i got error on gcc-linaro-arm-none-eabi-4.8-2014.04_linux.tar.xz but then it goes once again and its alright ... still downloading the resrt
<patrixl> ok back in business with torrents, now let me see if I still get errors
<IgorPec> probably this is some glitch with aria2
<patrixl> gcc-linaro-arm-none-eabi-4.8-2014.04 ? mine's downloading 2013...
<patrixl> gcc-linaro-aarch64-none-elf-4.8-2013.11_linux.tar.xz
<IgorPec> anyway those compilers are due for removal
<IgorPec> AFAIK they are not used anymore. have to check
<patrixl> ah ok it goes up to 2014 finally
<patrixl> so
<patrixl> except I had to not use ~/.gnupg/S.dirmngr but the one in the armbian build's cache directory
<patrixl> I'll undo the fix and try again to compare
<patrixl> once everything is downloaded and working this time around
<IgorPec> when running the second time, this compiler is normally downloaded
<IgorPec> and compilation proceeds ... i would say this is just a warning type of error
<IgorPec> no manual fixing. it just works the next time
<patrixl> no, previously it would entirely stop with errors (same output/debug/output.log as in that forum thread I pasted)
<IgorPec> but if you run it again, what it does?
<patrixl> I'm not done downloading the compilers yet
<patrixl> def getting further ahead than earlier though
<patrixl> I'll finish this download, then start from scratch in another VM, without the S.dirmngr fix, and then I can provide some error logs
<patrixl> and compare
<IgorPec> ok
<patrixl> well this is gonna be slow... sigh.. guess everyone being home on a sunday is taking its toll
<IgorPec> hehe, my download speed is good.
<patrixl> lucky.. mine usually is...
<patrixl> but a sudden snow fall + government asking politely people to stay home ...
<IgorPec> yes, this is everywhere .. i would expect some speed drop, at least locally i have no change. let me check international points
<patrixl> oh.., having some storage issue not download issue. oops
<IgorPec> :=
* patrixl starts from scratch.. one more time...
<patrixl> alright I have an alternate theory
<patrixl> I"m using 'multipass', which quickly/easily creates ubuntu VMs and it has this function to map a directory from the host onto the VM
<patrixl> kinda like docker volume mounts
<patrixl> the armbian source tree was in such a mounted dir..
<patrixl> in my 2nd VM now there's no external mount/storage of an kind and no issues so far with dirmngr and gpg verification
<IgorPec> not familiar with this much. my VM is clean Ubuntu minimal server
<IgorPec> kvm virtualized
<patrixl> yeah I was lazy lol
<IgorPec> for lazy folks, we have docker instance :)
<patrixl> I'm not THAT lazy
<patrixl> yet
<patrixl> ok so far so good
<patrixl> except for the "no space left on device" error...
<patrixl> lol
<IgorPec> lol
<patrixl> ah well hopefully it'll build during dinner and not error out *Again*

<S812> hi there. can anyone help me?
<S812> i want to build my own armbian image. i use linuxmint Debian (debbie) env.
<S812> and S812 needed
<S812> ...?
<Werner> The only supported build environment is Ubuntu 18.04 (or 20.04)
<S812> balbes150 has succede for S812 debian...
<S812> Supported chips Allwinner A10, A20, A31, H2+, H3, H5, H6, A64 Amlogic S805 and S905 (Odroid boards), S802/S812, S805, S905, S905X and S912 (fork by @balbes150)
<Werner> If it is not the official Armbian repository we cannot support it either.
<S812> right... but do you have any ideas for me to start it ?
<S812> ok. thanks
<S812> how can i update to the last version of armbian-config?
<S812> or it"s related to kernel?
<Werner> It is independent and is regulary updated through apt
<S812> right, cheers...
