<codename13> Can anyone help me out with some errors I'm getting while attempting to port the newer ION subsystem to my kernel? drivers/gpu/ion/msm/msm_ion.c: In function 'msm_ion_parse_dt': drivers/gpu/ion/msm/msm_ion.c:523:3: error: expected ';' before 'num_heaps' num_heaps++; ^ drivers/gpu/ion/msm/msm_ion.c:535:40: error: expected ';' before '{' token for_each_child_of_node(dt_node, node) {
<codename13> drivers/gpu/ion/msm/msm_ion.c: In function 'msm_ion_parse_dt': drivers/gpu/ion/msm/msm_ion.c:523:3: error: expected ';' before 'num_heaps' num_heaps++; ^ drivers/gpu/ion/msm/msm_ion.c:535:40: error: expected ';' before '{' token for_each_child_of_node(dt_node, node) { ^
<codename13> drivers/gpu/ion/msm/msm_ion.c:33:36: error: expected declaration specifiers or '...' before string constant #define ION_COMPAT_MEM_RESERVE_STR "qcom,msm-ion-reserve"
<codename13> I can't seem to find any info regarding those errors in those files. I pulled the GPU folder straight from an ariesve KitKat kernel, so I think the files should be correct. Anyone have an idea of what the problem could be? Thank you.

<fonz93> lol?
<pyongyang> Yeah, codename13 is visibly new at coding with C.

<pyongyang> Webkit is a bag o' shite.
<rymate1234> what's wrong with it pyongyang?
<pyongyang> Repeated build fuckups :D
<pyongyang> Having to make clean repeated is a PITA :)
<rymate1234> lmao
<rymate1234> this is why i no longer build android

<codename13> @pyongyang Yeah, I am unfamiliar with coding. What I'm trying to do is upgrade the ION subsystem in my 3.0.x kernel (for an msm7x27a Samsung device) along with the GPU drivers in the kernel so I can use the Qcom S3's official KitKat libraries. I've seen quite a few msm7x27a devs do that for their devices, but I'm having trouble with mine. What's the best approach? Start fresh with a 3.4.x kernel and try to add in Samsung-spec
<codename13> (Which I guess I would get by finding a CAF kernel that is most similar to my kernel and diff out the changes?)
<codename13> Or should I try to manually copy over folders and files and replace old things with new things in my kernel? (Which is what I am attempting to do, but I got those errors up above after replacing the GPU drivers)

<pyongyang> codename13, first thing to do is make sure the kernel source your using is the same version as the one you lifted the patches from.
<codename13> So find a 3.0.x kernel that has the upgraded ION subsystem and GPU drivers?
<pyongyang> That'll be easiest.
