<stellar-slack> <brian.ebert> @eva: Marketing for FOSS can be a discipline of telling the truth about something in a way that makes it easier for others to pick up and make use of.
<stellar-slack> <eva> Exactly. I see it as a way to actually *help* people
<stellar-slack> <brian.ebert> @eva: That was so fast I feel I might be in a time warp
<stellar-slack> <eva> Ha
<stellar-slack> <eva> Those typing classes in middle school clearly paid off? :)
<stellar-slack> <eva> (also I get Slack popups on my laptop, so if I have the window open I can nab it and reply basically instantly. Pretty sneaky)
<stellar-slack> <brian.ebert> I can't believe typing was still offered when you were in middle school
<stellar-slack> <eva> Hahaha. It was a requirement for us. I remember actually doing quite poorly in it at first, strangely. But I practiced a ton after school and ended up getting fairly good thereafter. Didn’t hurt that my dad was an IT consultant type :)

<stellar-slack> <john> *Just testing the ground: Would SDF & community members interested to support/run a new public stellar forum?*
<stellar-slack> <dzham> @john: I'm not sure if we're enough users to warrant a forum, but if you're serious about it, run it through me before you take any action. Stellartalk hosting was $80/m because the forum software was too heavy on resources, where it could have sufficed with a $5/m Digital Ocean server.

<stellar-slack> <dzham> Speaking of space, how awesome wouldn’t it be to have a Stellar node in a miniature satellite

<stellar-slack> <john> @dzham: that's what I was thinking about, to run a Vanilla forum on a droplet @ $5/m. Do you know who owns the (old) stellartalk domain?

<stellar-slack> <maduramaha> Thanks for your invite... Happy to join here
<stellar-slack> <john> @maduramaha: welcome! What make you interested in Stellar?
<stellar-slack> <john> @dzham: A Stellar node in a miniature satellite would be the most fitting ad ever! Let's do it! https://www.ardusat.com

<stellar-slack> <eva> @john not sure if he still owns it or is now sold, but @hurukan did.
<stellar-slack> <john> Hey @eva how are you? What do you think yourself? Would a community run forum be profitable for Stellar?
acetakwas has quit [Ping timeout: 264 seconds]
<stellar-slack> <jed> john: yes that would be great I think we really need a forum.
<stellar-slack> <john> @hurukan: are you still controlling the http://stellartalk.org|stellartalk.org domain? If yes would you be interested to partner up with @dzham & myself and run a new community forum?
