<thiagochristof> Hey @eva , I was thinking about how hard is to explain stellar to newcomers
<stellar-slack>
<thiagochristof> if you like this discussion please share with Jessica (UX) and Romina (designer) and others
<stellar-slack>
<thiagochristof> Issue: The newcomer probably won't understand what is all about because the very home page of http://stellar.org|stellar.org is focused on development and tech jargons.
<stellar-slack>
<thiagochristof> The non-tech newcomer probably won't navigate through the content to get answers to basic questions like: What are lumens? Where do I buy lumens? How stellar can benefit my finances and other people? How it compares to bitcoin and another digital currencies?
<stellar-slack>
<thiagochristof> I like the examples like that you can receive in dollars and send as pesos to Mexico, but in general the non-tech people won't reach the stuff because it's hidden. If he or she see things like "curl -X POST ..." almost as a welcome message, oh well, let's get out here before navigating the other stuff.
<stellar-slack>
<thiagochristof> Possible solution: Less content. Merge menu itens like "About" and "Learn" into one lean section. Be nice to non-tech people first. The home page should be about call to actions and people-centered instead of being developer-centered. If you are an end user: watch this, get lumens here, learn more here, be volunteer here. If you are developer: curl, build your first application, etc

<thiagochristof> Thanks for listening

<joyce> Thanks for all this feedback @thiagochristof. I’ll make sure we all see it:)
<stellar-slack>
<buhrmi> @joyce would stellar be interesting in participating in hyperledger?
<stellar-slack>
<eva> thanks @thiagochristof! Really appreciate all the feedback.
