<dzham> @john: Shouldn't complain. My uncle is out of his coma (hemorrhagic stroke), my father-in-law had TB, but is recovering fine. I justed signed the contract for *one* job, and am working informally for another one already.

<lab> and what a pity that our respected advisor didn't even mention stellar besides ethereum and ripple. :(

<dzham> @lab: thanks for the coffee, maybe it’s time for me to start drinking that black stuff. Two jobs might sound bad, but it’s quite OK. So far I’m averaging 55h/week

<dzham> > Jordan Lee Now Hiring 2 Full Time Devs to Finish Building Peershares Based B&C Exchange, $50-100 an Hour (Also a 10% Reward to Whoever Finds the Devs)

<dzham> Now we’re talking. Wish we could have something like that *here*
<stellar-slack>
<sacarlson> @lab sounds more like an aplication for free coders "because we have been getting a lot of applicants, we will not be able to respond to everyone but will reach out to folks who we want to interview within 2 weeks."
<stellar-slack>
<lab> so stellar has better (more stable) core dev team.
<stellar-slack>
<lab> compared to PPC's contractor :)

<john> Interesting post re: joi.ito He's right to be concerned about Bitcoin... Everyone is concerned! Between a divided community, miners, core dev & a bankrupt foundation, we don't need to be a genius to conclude that Bitcoin will fail and it's total marketcap will get surpassed by emerging companies such as Ripple & Ethereum. I personally think Stellar has great chances to list itself as one of the big 3, but to my hum

<john> Imagine a smartphone pre-loaded with amazing Apps such as "Women Safety", WhatsApp (and why not a pre-funded Lumens wallet such as Lobstr), a smartphone capable to empower citizens, even in the remotest rural and semi-urban centres of the world, with the latest in digital technology at an incredible affordable price... less than $4...

<john> Stellar should focus it's attention in building & releasing a breakthrough innovation, that is easy to use, understand & accessible to all!
<stellar-slack>
<dzham> @john: I think they debunked the whole thing about the $4 phone
<stellar-slack>
<dzham> It would have to be heavily subsidized for that to work
<stellar-slack>
<raymens> @scott: thanks for the TLS in horizon, works great! :)
<stellar-slack>
<dzham> @john: I could kill for a proper kebab/shawarma BTW. They just don’t do it the *right* way outside of my hometown in Sweden. I reckon the Turks are quite OK though
<stellar-slack>
<john> @dzham: well somehow I liked better the Kebab made in UK & Ireland, with garlic sauce :yum: but here in Turkey they made them a bit dry to my taste.
<stellar-slack>
<john> @dzham: According to a teardown report from a research firm, the components and manufacturing cost of a 16GB iPhone 6 cost Apple $200.10. The device is selling for $649 in the U.S. That gives the device a profit margin of about 69% so a plastic low quality smartphone made with outdated components and subsidised by Network firm could be easily build for less than 4$

<eva> @john: re focusing on an innovation that helps everyone, that’s actually why we’re focused on developers right now. Instead of working on one innovation that reaches everyone, we’re seeding the ecosystem for a thousand+ innovations that help reach more people. All about that localization :) https://stellar-public.slack.com/archives/general/p1456223955000423

<dzham> @eva: No big loss, in General. My hometown is ~30% immigrants, making everything feel a lot more continental. Lots of Persians, Arabs, people from the Balkans. That kind of reflects in the food that's available, which is just awesome.
<stellar-slack>
<eva> Sounds kind of amazing @dzham. San Francisco isn’t at all bad on the food front though - just expensive.
