Answer to my question: Yes, v2x and mux_gen cmake functions will generate XML files for you. You can also supply your own XML files of verilog files via add_file_target

mithro: The docs suggest that each symbiflow model has a sim.v file. But I see a few hand-written XML files that don't provide a sim.v as well (xc/common/ff). Does symbiflow tolerate building designs w/o sim.v files?

cr1901_modern: I'm unsure of the exact status there -- the quicklogic stuff uses v2x but that wasn't quite ready when we were doing a lot of the xc7 stuff
