<NickGR> Hello, I installed Focal Fossa on an Asus Tinkerboard, while I had audio before on an HDMI monitor, I can not find how to enable audio through the audio jack for my headphones as now it is connected to a DVI monitor, the settings only have HDMI as selection. Also anyone knows how to change zRAM settings?
<Werner> You can check and alter in /etc/default for zram and ramlog stuff
<Werner> No idea about tb though
<NickGR> Thank you Werner, will see in there for it
<NickGR> After fiddling around with various commands from the web, managed to hear audio from the analog output with "speaker-test -Dplughw:CARD=OnBoard,DEV=1" , but pactl list sinks does not have it, only ALSA does

<b3n10> hey guys, im trying to use power button on my OrangePiLite but `modprobe gpio-sunxi` says `Module gpio-sunxi not found`. Do i need to change kernel?
<b3n10> i am on `5.10.21-sunxi` kernel
lanefu has joined #armbian
<[TheBug]> or compile the module?
<b3n10> how?
<b3n10> link?
<[TheBug]> build your own kernel with the module...
<[TheBug]> I am not sure if we include it by default or not
<[TheBug]> you can also check older images
<[TheBug]> I would expect legacy images may support that
<[TheBug]> mainline not so sure
<b3n10> ah yeah, easiest is to look legacy images, do u have a link for those?
<[TheBug]> yes pick an legacy image from archive
<b3n10> is it fine if i go back to something like 2019 - 5.3.9 kernel?
<b3n10> but the main issue is my power button is not responding .. running `acpi_listen`, no result when i press power button.
<b3n10> is it an issue because gpio-sunxi is not enabled?

<lanefu> [TheBug]: i have upgraded cooling for my rockpi 4B https://armbian.lane-fu.com/linx/s/0bnsmoh3.png
<rneese> what you doing with the rockpi
<rneese> should have gone nano
Hokedli has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<lanefu> rockpi was a deal and got to me in 3 days :)
<lanefu> just adding it to my compute cluster and will pull it out for testing

<rneese> 49
<rneese> for a rk3399 cheap
<lanefu> is the 4 gig in stock
<rneese> dont know
<rneese> was just looking at specs
<lanefu> but you said i should have gone nano
<lanefu> question my purchasing decision
<lanefu> anyway got a decent deal on a 4B with 16G emmc, emmc writer and power supply in 'merica
<lanefu> i had looked for nanos, but by the time i got to the 4 gig models they weere ether expensive, hard to find, or no emmc, or both
Hokedli has quit [Quit: Konversation terminated!]
<rneese> just giving you a hard time
<rneese> ahh ok
<lanefu> :P
<lanefu> i almost got nanopi R4S a few times managed to resist
<lanefu> hopefully good on my RK3399 quota
<lanefu> wait for some new magic to come
<Xogium> must say I couldn't even decide between a rockpi 4c and odroid n2
<Xogium> I don't have m2 drive so I wouldn't even use that
<lanefu> Xogium: if you just want headless raw CPU power. odroid n2 is winner
<lanefu> if you care about USB3, PCIE or other IO... rockpi 4c
<Xogium> well
<Xogium> n2 has 4 usb 3
<Xogium> n2+ is even nastier :p
<lanefu> yeah they suck for bus-powered stuff... N2's USB is know weakest link.. N2+ has same USB weakness
<Xogium> can be overclocked to 2.4ghz for the big cores and is 2 ghz for the a53
<Xogium> yeah
<Xogium> but in my case I just have one external hard drive that has its own 12v psu
<lanefu> yeah thats probably fine... out of an abudance of caution I default to not recommending it for disk stuff
<Xogium> yeah that's a bad idea
<Xogium> disk stuff I mean
<Xogium> but honestly, I don't even know what I'd do with this which is part of why I've not bought one, price aside
<Xogium> I still have my c2 and its performing quite well still, even after nearly 6 years of running full time. The eMMC is still between 1 and 9% of blocks worn out
<Xogium> to be fair even now I don't know what to do with the c2 lol
<Xogium> I got this smallish stm32mp1 running m irc client ;)
<lanefu> oh that's awesome!
<lanefu> one day i'll make a cool ESP32 based terminal
<Xogium> hehe
<Xogium> my friend got himself a nintendo switch, and well, there's not one game I can play with him. Lol this shouldn't have been surprising really
<Xogium> its not just that people making video games don't care about disabled people, its also that apparently nintendo doesn't feel like even putting up some tts for the game console itself
<lanefu> yeah that does totally suck. what console platforms are friendly for visually impaired people?
<Xogium> heard the xbox is friendlier
<Xogium> not have any proof of it tbh
<lanefu> there's always Zork, I guess
<lanefu> whoa that sounds pretty cool
<Xogium> yeah definitely does

<Xogium> I don't really feel like paying 50 usd for a bunch of games like 'who answers the phone the fastest' or 'who fires the gun first'
<Xogium> even games like super mario cost less than this

<stipa> i saw today in news that Elon musk connected monekys brain to the controller and monkey plays pong on a TV with his mind.
<stipa> that guy got into Brain computer interface thingy pretty seriously
attah has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<nekomancer[m]> after half of year brain interface will be cursed and broken. with brain around.
<stipa> i have no idea, lol
<stipa> but that thing is doable
<stipa> it's scary how future will look like with that stuff in peopels heads
<stipa> peoples*
<stipa> people*
<stipa> because rading brainwaves with sensors not in head didin't give any results
<nekomancer[m]> it's all was in "sliders"...
<stipa> nekomancer[m]: what sliders?
<stipa> i hven't watched that one
<rneese> everyone is let go .. turn in your hardware and come back monday when we rehire people
<rneese> lol
<stipa> idk man, there's plenty of people willing to put that thing into their head rgiht now
<stipa> and the market for that thing is pretty big
<stipa> wil be*
<stipa> totally that series "sliders"
<rneese> Half of the US are Brain dead Puppets...
<rneese> They need to wake up and realize the damage they did and whats happening
<rneese> imho
<nekomancer[m]> I'd like it too. But I know it will not work for a long time. And then meat around interface will be dead.
<nekomancer[m]> so — I prefer old ways. screens, keys, mouse/
<stipa> well, in any case more than half of the brain is not in use so some of rotten brain meat won't kill anyone :D
<stipa> i hope the BCI won't be near the part we use
<stipa> khm
<nekomancer[m]> sad but interface have to be in usable part :(
<rneese> no implants for me and the more we join into computer interfaces the more we become like BORG
<rneese> I am now borg
<stipa> nekomancer[m]: that's bummer
<stipa> rneese: right right
<rneese> lol
<stipa> well, disabled people would benefit something like BCI
<rneese> I ment I am not for being borg
<rneese> yes
<stipa> with, you know, robotic implants and stuff
<stipa> cybertech, legs, arms...
<stipa> eyes
<stipa> maybe an brain augmentation for instant smartness
<nekomancer[m]> best hw always will be for wolfs from wall street and people with power and money.
<rneese> ok out i go dishes to do and dog toplay with
<stipa> rneese: cya
<stipa> nekomancer[m]: yeah, or you could hack it yourself
<stipa> and make it better than it is
<stipa> better than ot's "legal"
<stipa> it's*
<nekomancer[m]> I think now we live last years in world where anybody can "hack" kind of complicated hitech hardware. TiVo-isation, secureBoots in all forms — fiture of all electronics power more than arduino.
<stipa> yeah
<nekomancer[m]> it's not a new. it was possible about 10 years ago.
<nekomancer[m]> The problem was brain/nerve degradation and dead in place of contact.
<nekomancer[m]> it works, but not for long time.
<stipa> sad
