<vegii> is USB not working yet on H616 (opi zero2), or is my board damaged?
<vegii> hm... perhaps powering the board through gpio header has something to do with this
<vegii> or maybe the port is not supported and powered down for that reason
<vegii> nope, gpio header is irrelevant
<lanefu> vegii: all USB ports? or one via a header
<lanefu> zero2 support is still WIP.. there's al ot of gaps iwth device tree config as far as I know.. (don't have one myself)
<vegii> the physical port
<vegii> haven't tested the estra ports on second header
<vegii> *extra ports

<stipa> is there any point to make something deisgned for Hirsute working on Focal?
<lanefu> stipa: depends on how bad you want it?

<stipa> lanefu: maybe it could wait
<stipa> some better times
<stipa> i have installed weechat 3.1 with dpkg from here https://weechat.org/raspbian/dists/stable/main/binary-armhf/ but all the scripting support like pythong, perl... won't install, so i have now weechat 3.1 on focal but i cant run scripts
<stipa> some stuff got installed fine
<stipa> it spits weird errors like i'm missing stuff even though it's installed
<stipa> and won't install for example weechat-python_3.1-1_armhf.deb
<c0rnelius> probs better off removing it and building it from source. Thats how I went about it on buster.
<stipa> The following packages have unmet dependencies:
<stipa> weechat-python:armhf : Depends: libpython3.7:armhf (>= 3.7.0) but it is not installable
<stipa> E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
<lanefu> stipa: hmm I downloaded the deb-srcs and built them myself a while back
<lanefu> wasnt too bad
<lanefu> on focal
<c0rnelius> you can grab source and debian tarballs put them in place and run - dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc
<stipa> c0rnelius: lanefu i'll take a look
<lanefu> sweeet.. yeah sorry I didnt keep any notes from my builds
<c0rnelius> stipa: you 'll need to download those two tarballs on the right, extract and place the debian folder inside weechat dir. run the command, which will then spit out an error concerning depends. Install depends and if it still not met, edit the control files version numbers to reflect whats installed on ur system and run the command again. https://packages.ubuntu.com/hirsute/weechat
<stipa> c0rnelius: will try
chewitt has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<c0rnelius> If I can do it using debian unstable sources on debian buster I'm sure you got this :)

<jstefanop> can anyone help with enabling uart overlay?
<jstefanop> pins on opi4 are set for i2c currently, but need to enable uart
<jstefanop> GPIO4_C0/I2C3_SDA/UART2B_RX_u
<jstefanop> GPIO4_C1/I2C3_SCL/UART2B_TX_u
<jstefanop> I see references to UART2B in current.dts, and UART4 has an overlay that can be enabled (rockchip_uart4.dbto) figured if I can find the uncompiled version I can edit it and try to enable uart2b?

<ArmbianTwitter> @Daryl_VanDyke (Daryl Van Dyke): @STP_KITT @EbenUpton @protikdas @Raspberry_Pi @canakit Depends on model but I've been super pleased. My models include eMMC and share the standardized 40 pin GPIO. Stepping back from proprietary RasPi OS to Armbian has been an additional win. Also better video codecs... https://tinyurl.com/yjx22894 (12s ago)

<stipa> c0rnelius: lanefu looks fine, i had only one dependency "dbhelper", it tokk awhile to find it and compile since it's not available via apt
<stipa> board hiz 80 C
<stipa> hit*
<stipa> 81 C
<stipa> and i was like wasted an hour to fined dbhelper.deb, it ended outside the compilation folder...
<stipa> idk how

<c0rnelius> stipa: strange dbhelper should be there. just different versions of it and that can be adjusted in the control file inside the debian dir.
<c0rnelius> for example if that build is looking for 13 change it to 12.
<stipa> c0rnelius: dunno, i downloaded it, compiled and installed and compilation of weechat completed succesfully
<stipa> yeah, there was something about number 13
<c0rnelius> thats what I figured
<c0rnelius> well either way you got it done :)
<stipa> yeah, thanks
<stipa> i followed you instructions
<c0rnelius> Now you know how to build ur own debs.
<stipa> it's still foggy to me but i guess i'll do more of that process
<c0rnelius> I do it often as I wanna run newer version which stable releases don't tend to give you. Well and for other reasons, but that doesn't matter.
<stipa> idk, there's some need to have fresh versions of stuff especially on the newest hardware
<stipa> i could go by with the older weechat but...
<stipa> i'm greedy i guess
<c0rnelius> I mostly just do it cuz I can :)
<c0rnelius> Why not you know?
<stipa> i don't have guts to install devel stuff
<c0rnelius> And the board it runs on currently is that boards only job. So might as well get the most out of it.
<c0rnelius> The dev stuff isn't hurting anything. You should be able to purge it after the build if ur worried about the clutter.
<stipa> i guess i would rock that stuff if i knew C
<stipa> i would have means to fix stuff that doesn't behave as it shoud
<stipa> but you never know
<c0rnelius> Well ur also able to add patches to the builds. Lets say there is a patch available somewhere but its not included in the ubuntu and debian build. You just add that patch to the debian/patches and echo its names into the debian/patches/series file and it now gets included. Its pretty handy.
<stipa> i patched hostapd but the patch is illegal
<stipa> actually i stole it from AUR
<stipa> and compiled on Armbian
<c0rnelius> AUR has some good patches sometimes.
<stipa> yeah, on package pages there are resources listed needed to make package possible
<stipa> also patches
