Is there any way to revoke an ipns key, or deligate roles, or have a backup key? Is there a way to see the history of changes made to an ipns entry?
<whyrusleeping>
timthelion: revoke, no. history, not built in, but you can always have a merklelink to the previous revision in the object you publish
<whyrusleeping>
once you give someone a key, they have it. There arent any ACLs
<whyrusleeping>
that said, we're looking into building more complex systems that allow the keyholder to designate other keys as 'allowed publishers'

its me again, I'd like to make a content address storage system based on IPLD, so an IPLD service that would be block-backed or a proxy to an IPFS node. I would like to ignore as much of IPFS as possible, yet strictly conform to IPLD standards. With that in mind, what is the most future proof binary-encoding for IPLD? I see documents that reference Protobuf and CBOR, and I would prefer CBOR, but I see that IPFS block hashes seem
<ehmry>
yea, protobuf is too complicated, but If I choose to store CBOR blocks exclusively, I would need some translator that would fetch and re-encode protobuf DAGs?
<lgierth>
ipfs dag put can parse them
<lgierth>
--input-enc
<lgierth>
and then it'll store them as CBOR

if I want some CBOR examples I should use `ipfs dag put --input-enc cbor ...` and then `ipfs block get ...`
tg has quit [Quit: Leaving]

ehmry: block get will return the raw cbor
<lgierth>
it has no notion of ipld
<ehmry>
ok, are there any CBOR blocks in the wild?
<lgierth>
you can create some yourself

huh, interesting

Yeah, popular guy who recently starting hyping ipfs a lot. Not sure if the pattern of more/less nodes appearing during the day in waves fit yet though
