Good evening
<mach20x>
I wonder if anyone anyone has a fix for a problem i have been having for the past week with my 4.2.2 captivatemtd OS
<mach20x>
!ask

<mach20x>
So my issue is that my OS android system and Google services has eaten up 64 percent of my battery when i really haven't been doing all that much with my phone
<mach20x>
Is there sooner levity reason they are running in the background because I'd prefer not to mess up my system, and the way those processes are listed in my battery information makes then like black boxes, and really ties my hands a bit in terms of fixing the problem
<mach20x>
Some legit * not sooner levity

Can anyone tell me why I get no service with CM or any other AOSP ROMs but stock ROMs and the Leaked 4.2.2 ROM work fine on my i9300? My IMEI is correct but the serial changes and I get no signal. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So that's maybe a no? ;P
<jomp16>
Google services eating your battery? Is normal, any programs eats battery...
<jomp16>
If you have Facebook installed, uninstall it, the app always wakes up...
<mach20x>
Yeah i checked the wake lock wakeups on my apps, unless my other apps are disguising themselves under Google services I don't see that working outside of normal tolerances
<muh_muffins>
Anyone know anything about my issue?

Right now android system is the one doing most of the hogging, i just don't know why.
<jomp16>
Clean install? Some issues is because isn't a clean install
<jomp16>
Do a backup, wipe/format everything, install again, check battery usage
<mach20x>
I'll try that and see what happens. I just updated on the 2nd of this month, I'm Petty sure I wiped the cache before I diff the install out of habit, and I cleaned the dalvik not too long before the install too.
<mach20x>
Nothing much changed on the phone aside from the updates
<jomp16>
Nothing wrong on my side (N4), my build of 10.2 and unofficial franco kernel (for JSS* build)

seems to me there are gps issues on pretty much all aosp roms on samsung phones. they never lock in as many sats as on tw roms

i777ucle5
<bfrog>
5 not 4, sorry
<TechnoCat>
i have an i777 and have no gps issue
<bfrog>
tw roms?
<TechnoCat>
i'm on ucmd8, but i don't see that making much of a difference
<t3chw00di>
touchwiz
<bfrog>
yeah gps just fails to work sometimes and I have to reboot
<TechnoCat>
stock rom more or less
<TechnoCat>
i haven't personally had a problem with my gps. i use it heavily too
<bfrog>
yeah, considering going back to stock rom honestly... but last time I tried that my battery was dying in like 5 hours and the phone was hot the whole time
<bfrog>
like it just sat there eating away at something or other, annoying
<bfrog>
love the gs2 otherwise... could just use this for years more without getting a new phone...
<t3chw00di>
TechnoCat if you watch gpstest or something similar you will see that fewer sats get used with aosp roms. most people probably don't notice it
<TechnoCat>
i can check
<TechnoCat>
well, i gues si can't check
<t3chw00di>
hehe
<TechnoCat>
i was under the impression the gps issue was solved months ago. there was a secret bitfield or something in the data returned
<bfrog>
TechnoCat: is that with a nightly build or the 9.1 stable build
<bfrog>
I've been running the 9.1 stable build since it came out
<t3chw00di>
TechnoCat oh, I never heard anything about that
<bfrog>
9.1.0-i777 is the cm version
<TechnoCat>
i'm on 10.1 nightly
<bfrog>
is that pretty stable for you?
<TechnoCat>
yeah, emphasis on /pretty/ stable
<bfrog>
I thought the guys working on the samsung mod got frustrated and "gave up on it" or something
<bfrog>
read that awhile ago...
<TechnoCat>
it still crashes on me every other day probably
