<Bob_Dole>
out of curiosity, What all ECP5 parts actually have the serdes on them? I know someone was mentioning several of them have it unofficially a while ago
<Bob_Dole>
I'd think some of the smaller packages just might not be able to use it at all, but I'm not entirely sure on that, hence me asking.
<Bob_Dole>
futarisIRCcloud, wouldn't that only list the ones that expose it in the proprietary tools, and not mention things like the 12k is actually a 25k that the open tools can fully use?
<futarisIRCcloud>
Bob_Dole: I guess it depends on whats on the die. --idcode parameters for ecppack for that override... nextpnr-ecp5 lists the different devices separately...
<sorear>
Bob_Dole: all of the ecp5 dies have a serdes manufactured, but whether it works is currently unknonw
<sorear>
also unknown is whether the non-*M* packages have wirebonds for the serdes
<Bob_Dole>
the untested is expected, but the wirebonds is one thing I was wondering about
<sorear>
we know that there is no die variant where the serdes is *absent*

In the Lattice-provided pinout CSVs, the SERDES pins are "RESERVED" (as opposed to "NC" or similar) for non-SERDES parts - which does suggest they are bonded out
<whitequark>
it'd be easy enough to check, you don't even need a pcb
<whitequark>
power it up then twiddle the pins via jtag
