<wellu> hi!
<wellu> I have Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 and a bit confused about CM versions.
<wellu> http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=i9100&type= has only experimental versions while http://get.cm/?device=galaxys2&type= has quite old versions.
<wellu> !device
<wellu> bbqbot: Ah, S2 was renamed to I9100 in download pages.
<wellu> that explains.
<EgotisticalElf> right, there were too many galaxys2's :)
<EgotisticalElf> so you want the i9100
<EgotisticalElf> problem is, there are no stable builds of the i9100
<EgotisticalElf> due to the exynos chipset

June) the phone gets hot with just little work to do. Is it a new known bug, maybe with the kernel or could it be something else? I also noticed, the battery drain is mostly caused by the System (Android OS 35%) in the statistics

<Sinval> ok
<Sinval> thanks
<Thiagovfar> yourunclejoe: make sure you've got CM for your device
<Sinval> testing
<yourunclejoe> Yeah, I have the right image.
<Thiagovfar> CWM disagrees
<yourunclejoe> I had ChaOS installed before this, and I think it's screwed up something with how my device identifies itself.

<yourunclejoe> I'm pulling my package from this link: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?type=nightly&device=i777
<yourunclejoe> I've tried the latest nightly, and I've gone back to previous nightlies as well, and none of them seem to want to flash.

<yourunclejoe> Is there any way I can disable this device check?
<yourunclejoe> Hrm, it appears as if my device is identifying itself as an SGH-S959G.
<yourunclejoe> I've never heard of that model.
<Thiagovfar> You can disable it, yes
<yourunclejoe> Furthermore, I've flashed firmware for the i777 without issue before
<Thiagovfar> but if the device is wrong, by any reason, you might brick it
<Thiagovfar> are you on windows?
<yourunclejoe> I'm on windows, but if you give me ten minutes, I can fire up Ubuntu
<Thiagovfar> No need
<yourunclejoe> Okay.
<Thiagovfar> Got notepad++ handy?
<yourunclejoe> You know it.
<Thiagovfar> Open the zip, extract the file
<Thiagovfar> META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
<Thiagovfar> from it
<Thiagovfar> edit that file using notepad++
<Thiagovfar> Or another editor that preserves UNIX line endings
<yourunclejoe> Roger.
<yourunclejoe> Okay, file's open.
<Thiagovfar> I can't find any cm10.1 zip on my end

<Sinval> "Unfortunately the system UI stopped"
<Thiagovfar> wow
<Thiagovfar> Your device might be failing
<Sinval> How's that?
<Thiagovfar> hardware failure? i.e. it may be broken?
<Thiagovfar> yourunclejoe: remove the first three lines
<Thiagovfar> and replace the file within the zip
<Sinval> You mean hardware problems?
<Thiagovfar> Sinval: might be
<Sinval> How can i be sure of that?
<Thiagovfar> Sinval: You may want to flash a stock ROM and see if that works okay
tweetergal has quit [Ping timeout: 248 seconds]
<Sinval> Yes i will do it
<Thiagovfar> Assuming you have tested a different nightly
<Sinval> Yes, i tested the one you said
<yourunclejoe> Righto, here goes nothing.
<yourunclejoe> Okay, now it's saying that it failed to read the footer.
<yourunclejoe> Something about signature verification failing?
<Sinval> if the problem still happen with the original rom
<Thiagovfar> yourunclejoe: either disable signature verification or re-sign the zip
<Sinval> Should be a hardware issue?
<Thiagovfar> yourunclejoe: You've changed the zip, it won't match the signature.
<yourunclejoe> I'll toggle signature verification off.
<Thiagovfar> Sinval: Should Stock not work correctly, you can send it to Samsung for repairs =)

<Sinval> Well i bought this used yesterday
<Sinval> So, should i devolve it?
<codeworkx> Sinval: if it happens also with stock rom, then the display is fuct
<Thiagovfar> Sinval: You should try to return it
<Sinval> Ok
<Thiagovfar> Sinval: If you determine it is broken
<Sinval> I will test with the original ROM
<Sinval> Then if it fails...
<Sinval> I just install the ROM from sammobile
<Sinval> in the recovery
<yourunclejoe> It appears as if there's another problem.
<Sinval> wipe dat/cache
<Sinval> And reboot, right?
<yourunclejoe> CWM hangs at "opening update package"

<yourunclejoe> And yes.
<Thiagovfar> extract just the updater script

<Thiagovfar> 7zip created a new zip file. Maybe with a format not recognized by cwm
<Thiagovfar> by forcing it to replace the file, you can be more or less sure that it won't change the format
<yourunclejoe> Let me tell you exactly what I did.
<yourunclejoe> I opened the archive with 7zip
<yourunclejoe> copied out the install script
<yourunclejoe> modified it
<yourunclejoe> and then replaced the install script in the archive with the modified one
<yourunclejoe> transferred to my phone by mounting the USB storage from inside of CWM
<yourunclejoe> and then tried to flash using the modified archive
<yourunclejoe> I'm using touch 5.5.0.4
<Thiagovfar> Okay
<Thiagovfar> hold on
<Thiagovfar> Do you have adb?
<yourunclejoe> Yes.
<Thiagovfar> please, do: mounts and storage > mount /system
<yourunclejoe> From CWM?
<Thiagovfar> yes
<Thiagovfar> then, adb shell df -h
<yourunclejoe> Mounted.
<yourunclejoe> Hang on, updating ADB

<Breezer> Anyone here able to answer me on this; I have a Samsung Galaxy S3, running 0606 CM10.1 Nightly. My bluetooth headset isn't working 'properly', as in, google voice search won't react to it, at all. It just waits for a bit before it 'times out' and disappears. This happens with Jabra Extreme and Jabra Stone. Everything is fine if I'm not connected to a headset.

<Breezer> Yeah, it's paired and everything works perfectly fine in calls.
<n-iCe> Breezer: have you check google's now headset settings?
<Breezer> Yeah, Voice - Bluetooth headset
<Breezer> that's checked.
<n-iCe> Should work
<Breezer> I thought so too.
<n-iCe> I would try this, reboot the device, pair it again, and check.
<Breezer> But it's as if the microphone doesn't pick it up.
<Breezer> Tried that.
