<IgorPec> Lanefu:
<Tonymac32> Good morning Igor
<IgorPec> good morning
<IgorPec> need Lane phone # for delivery. but actually - i can also send it to you, right?
<IgorPec> those test boards from Olimex
<Tonymac32> as a forwarding point? Sure. I am a post office now :)
<IgorPec> hehe, yeas. Lane gets two, you and martin one and one is free for later
<IgorPec> the rest i the one forwarding
<Tonymac32> Are you sending to Martin directly? Canada is evil
<Tonymac32> at least, postage wise XD
<IgorPec> then I will send it to Martin, no problem. Nobody cares for stuff from Slovenia I guess :)
<IgorPec> i just want to sent one parcel to states
<IgorPec> i know you or who is getting it, might need to do the paperwork
<Tonymac32> haha I don't mind, I think they charged him a tarriff last time though. :/
<IgorPec> ah, yes. i got two odroid c4 recently. first went trought, second one 44 EUR charges ;)
<Tonymac32> The US, you could ship an army in here and they'd probably just wave it through without looking
<Tonymac32> try to send something out though, oh my
<IgorPec> ahaa, got it
<Tonymac32> I did have to pay a fee on my last shipment of ESP32 boards, but it was 100 assembled units, the fee was $45
<IgorPec> you are now sending things out on a regular base, right?
<Tonymac32> not internationally, I went through CrowdSupply because Mouser does the shipping. For my little boards though I will be
<Tonymac32> first attempt is a shipment to the UK
<Tonymac32> I'm trying out a company that lets me print my own postage at the moment, they handle some of the customs paperwork, so we'll see
<IgorPec> when you master the paper work and troubleshooting, its managable
<IgorPec> ok, i sent Olimex your address, so expect something next week
<Tonymac32> Yeah, I expect trouble mostly from ultra-protectionist states like that EU place. :P
<IgorPec> they use DHL i think
<Tonymac32> ;-)
<Tonymac32> ok, I'm inside the DHL service area
<Tonymac32> they only go so far from major airports here, which can be a pain
<IgorPec> i heard, yes. small problems of big conutries
<Tonymac32> between that and slow internet for most of the land mass
<Tonymac32> nobody runs 20 km of fiber for 100 people
<IgorPec> city is Oxford, 48371
<Tonymac32> "city" might be an overstatement
<IgorPec> township, village?: )
<Tonymac32> there is the village, and then the township around it

<IgorPec> hej
<Miouyouyou> I'm testing yet another IRC bridging system, through my Matrix server
<Miouyouyou> I really like the "Matrix" servers. When I heard the name, and saw their main webclient "Riot", I was like "Hmm, ok, it's time to test some new technologies !". And then... reality, where you have to edit YAML files in a specific folder with a text editor... So High-Tech !
<IgorPec> "high tech" then :)
<Miouyouyou> Yeah... The thing is, Riot is one of the rare webchat client that supports VideoConferencing by "just" setting up the STUN address server in the server.
<Miouyouyou> Which means that once the STUN server is in place (to open holes in the firewalls and prepare the NAT systems), "it just works"
<Miouyouyou> However, they have a "Federation" system with catastrophic performances cost. So I disabled it.
<Miouyouyou> I'm still surprised that, with the advent of "Web Real Time Conferencing" (and technologies like TURN/STUN), so few chat clients propose VOIP features.
<IgorPec> voip probably remained in the industrial domains?
<IgorPec> not so close to those thingss
<Miouyouyou> Well, technically, it's now integrated within the different browsers (which are now Safari, Google Chrome, Google Chrome, Firefox and Google Chrome)
<Miouyouyou> But they only provide an API. A website still have to get the people IP and setup the connection.
<Miouyouyou> Meanwhile, nobody downloaded my wonderful Bullseye Armbian image.
<IgorPec> i got the technical idea behind
<Miouyouyou> I still wonder if there's an actual HDMI screen that support bastardized laptop resolutions like 1366x768
<IgorPec> oh, yeah, users are spoiled
<IgorPec> they just want that things works, but when you ask them for help ... they look away. in most cases
<Miouyouyou> Some people use survey like "Steam surveys", but those include laptop users.
<IgorPec> even its in their interest. crazy
<Miouyouyou> Yeah, they don't want to "test".
<Miouyouyou> They want it to "work".
<Miouyouyou> With no testing.
<IgorPec> i am glad that i manage to setup autotesting at least for some features
<Miouyouyou> Yeah, that helps a lot
<IgorPec> yeah. even on the primitive level as it is now
<Miouyouyou> At least, you can quickly test things yourself, instead of "waiting for (dubious) feedback"
<IgorPec> it manly save me time to get an overview of the overall support status
<Miouyouyou> "Are you sure you're using the right image ?"
<IgorPec> yes. btw. you want one this hardware for automated testing?
<Miouyouyou> "That doesn't look like the kernel version I provided..."
<Miouyouyou> Hmm, that sounds interesting, but I only have like... 3 boards total. And I'm kinda mono-project. I'll start dealing with RK3399 when the RK3288 HDMI stuff will be done
<Miouyouyou> Yeah, I saw that. With auto powercycling
<IgorPec> ok, then perhaps you don't need this so urgent. I will have few extra boards here
<IgorPec> currently i don't know if things will work as designed :)
archetech has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<Miouyouyou> Well, if that works, at least, it's good. Even if that's not as designed. Sometimes you have good surprises !
<Miouyouyou> And sometimes you get some nice in-house fireworks
<IgorPec> i hope they will be on the good side.
<IgorPec> haha
<Miouyouyou> The colors are generally the same though
<IgorPec> i got around 50 arm boards constantly powered on now ... it becomes a bit scary
<Miouyouyou> It's either White or Bright Red sparkles
<Miouyouyou> Wow
<Miouyouyou> "I am the BOARD MASTER !"
<IgorPec> its getting hot around here ;)
<Miouyouyou> Yeah, well, the temperature raised from feeble 20°C to 26°C at night over here, so, yeah, I can understand that with 50 little heat generators, things are becoming very hot
<Miouyouyou> Though I can still run a Mesa compilation on the Tinky with just some passive cooling.
<IgorPec> so far i donn't do anyhting beside testing and controlling the tests with them
<Miouyouyou> Software-wise, you're using the LAVA thing from Linaro, or it's custom made
<IgorPec> no, custom
<Miouyouyou> I'm going to attack the fridge. Brb in 30 minutes.
<IgorPec> i will have to go, not sure when i am back.

<lanefu> but yeah the lAVA stuff seemed cool
<Miouyouyou> No money, No homies in Linaro hood
<Miouyouyou> I saw LAVA running in their FOSDEM booth, in 2019. It seems pretty configurable at first... But the documentation wasn't that good, IMHO
