How much space does being a Armbian download mirror take? It would be nice to have a mirror in the untied states and I have some resources.

Good morning
<IgorPec>
good morning
<Werner>
Is the image recreation finished?
<IgorPec>
yes
<Werner>
Awesome. Firing up transmission again
<IgorPec>
i didn't rebuild all. Some are left 20.05.1 and can stay that way
<IgorPec>
changes are anyway only that focal RD compression method
<IgorPec>
and upgrade is also out so its upgreaded to 20.05.2 at first apt update
<Werner>
Good
<IgorPec>
yeah, we should organise a virtual beer party ;)
<Werner>
As for me I don't need that. I prefer performance without optical distractions ;)
<IgorPec>
me neither

There are still two torrents at least that have issues. Armbian_20.05.1_Bananapi_bionic_current_5.4.43.img.xz and Armbian_20.05.1_Lepotato_bionic_current_5.6.15_desktop.img.xz
<IgorPec>
ok, will replace them

Hi IgorPec, 280GB that is doable. Are there any minimum bandwidth requirements in order to be a mirror?
<IgorPec>
for torrents, no
<gymnodemi>
Also, on my pull request, should I go ahead and move all of the current board-renegade patches in u-boot-rockchip-dev into a new folder board_renegade?
<IgorPec>
no, just this patch
<IgorPec>
for others i don't know without looking, for that i have no time atm
<gymnodemi>
Okay, sounds good. I was going to initially do that but then I saw all the other board-renegade- patches in the dev folder.
<IgorPec>
there are some doubled stuff for sure
<IgorPec>
but i don't know what is a correct order, so i can't advise you what to do
<IgorPec>
but with no-impact on others, we are safe
<IgorPec>
that's why we have those subfolders. its expenisive to check if something breaks on other targets
<IgorPec>
testing on hardware is manual :(
<gymnodemi>
I can totally see that being a tough one. Wish had had some more boards to do testing with to help out.
<IgorPec>
i have 45 boards in the test rig, but we lack some hardware and sw support for tesing ;)
<IgorPec>
eventually / I hope this will be once added to the merge request
<gymnodemi>
That is a noble goal.
<mrueg>
how's odroid c2 with latest armbian? I read about a few issues a few weeks earlier
<IgorPec>
yeah, its doable
<IgorPec>
mrueag: what kind of issues?
<gymnodemi>
As for the mirror, I am sitting on a educational network in the united states. We have 10Gb/s fiber connection. I could spare 280Gb if you need a static download mirror. I'm going to switch our debian stretch single board computers over to Armbian likely this summer.
<IgorPec>
static download mirror would also be nice
<IgorPec>
we provide rsync
<IgorPec>
that's a bit more since it has some archive ... let me checkl
<mrueg>
IgorPec: i think some issues with reboot that you mentioned a few weeks ago?
<IgorPec>
mrueg: on focal? no, that's fixed
<IgorPec>
problems are with c4
<IgorPec>
here reboot = hang, power cycle helps
<IgorPec>
gymnodemi: whole mirror is cca. 900G
<IgorPec>
that are images + 152G for mirroring apt
<gymnodemi>
IgorPec: hmm. That is a bit tougher. However, I have an old virtualization cluster to decommission over the summer. I may be able to get there. I will have to look it over what storage resources I can repurpose.
<IgorPec>
its a serious burden, i know
<IgorPec>
but traffice wise, its not that critical
<IgorPec>
torrent is most economical way and easy to setup
<gymnodemi>
I have 250Mb fiber at my house. I'll definitely start up some torrents I'm already seeding a bunch of debian stuff.
<IgorPec>
i am also sharing at home 100/500 fiber
<IgorPec>
great!
<Werner>
I wish we had more fiber here in Germany but that is more to be considered "Neuland"...
<IgorPec>
big country problems ;)
<HerculeP>
200 Mb/s fiber here :D
<IgorPec>
we will issue a armbian law that every armbian user with >100Mb should shre files on their network ;)
<HerculeP>
FYI Armbian_20.05.2_Odroidc2_focal_current_5.6.15_desktop.img boots , still no sound, borked reboot when using SD :(
<IgorPec>
power cycle
<IgorPec>
now it doesn't fuck the system anymore, but it hangs at boot loader
<HerculeP>
not a solution for remote locations
<IgorPec>
sound. hmm, not sure if we were doing anything ... we only sorted out for N2 / C2 IIRC
<IgorPec>
C4 is defenetly not a deployment ready
<HerculeP>
just reporting
<IgorPec>
i know, thanks
<HerculeP>
welcome
<IgorPec>
i am happy that we fix that annyoing random corruption bug
<HerculeP>
sure
<IgorPec>
now two weeks armbian off vacations ;)
<HerculeP>
that's why I tried ..
<Werner>
Meet in Salzburg for a beer :P
<IgorPec>
i was in salburg in november i think
<IgorPec>
good place to meet and borders are open from 12pm today
