<ArmbianTwitter> @CastawayEGR (Michael Tipton): As promised @fedora and @CentOSProject minimal and server build images using the @armbian 5.7.15 kernel for the @thepine64 a64+! Runs well and #podman even works. 😉 https://t.co/iNDwB2aFWB (18s ago)

<ArmbianTwitter> @lanefu (Lane Jennison): @CastawayEGR @fedora @CentOSProject @armbian @thepine64 that's pretty cool. Did you re-package the Armbian kernel, or just extract and overlay? Do you have your scripts posted anywhere? (18s ago)
<lanefu> Werner: I can't find the link for the North Ameriacn swag store
<Werner> Should be .com instead of anything else
<lanefu> ahh okay
<lanefu> found it
<bigbrovar_> Hi guys. Anyone use the espressobin v7 here? I want to know if it supports LTE mpcie cards
<bigbrovar_> Trying to get one and use as an LTE modem. My neck of the woods can only be served by lte. And the device supplied by the ISP often suck donkey balls

<emOne> If I would like to compile armbian for an android TV box is there anything I should know about how to get the thing to boot?
<emOne> I realize there are device tree files these days in the linux arm world
<Werner> If the target device is supported you can simply grab an images from the download page.
<Werner> Tv boxes support for Armbian is mostly community driven so you may want to take a look here too: https://forum.armbian.com/forum/24-tv-boxes/
<emOne> Werner: downloading now
<emOne> Werner: I do want to try panfrost though
<emOne> I think I may have to compile myself for that
<Werner> Most likely. There isn't a single board that is known to have stable graphics support. Much stuff is in development and experimental stuff.

<emOne_> Werner: ok so same question in that case
<emOne_> if I have to build the OS myself
epsilonKNOT has joined #armbian
<emOne_> .. how do I get it to boot on those tv boxes?
<ArmbianHelper> how do I get it to boot on those tv boxes? [en~>eng]
<Werner> The same way when using the pre-made image. The build script will do the same
<Werner> If you want to build the system by yourself check the documentation
<Werner> help
<ArmbianHelper> Check out our awesome documentation! It's tremendous, promise! https://docs.armbian.com/
<emOne_> There is no armbian OS image for my TV box per se
<emOne_> but the odroid c4 hardware is close enough
<emOne_> so I am going to download that and see if I can make it boot for starters
<Werner> Then it is not officially supported and you may want to check the forums mentioned above.

<emOne_> got it
<emOne_> thank you Werner <3 <3
<emOne_> appreciate my love!
<emOne_> now!
<emOne_> :)
<Werner> Good luck
<Werner> Tinkering with these boards is lots of try and error
<emOne_> yes I know
<emOne_> but I am quite happy and surprised that the panfrost driver has been released
<emOne_> at least it is something
<Werner> Yeah but don't expect too much. If it works, great. If not...well then you are not that much disappointed at least
<emOne_> I have tried to decrypt the DTB file from my android tv box using the dtb/dta unix tool .. it only gave back gibberish .. perhaps that tool has been updated now to support newer devices
<emOne_> Werner: perhaps that is why there isn't an awful lot of information about panfrost on these devices
<Werner> dtc -I dtb -O dts whateverfile.dtb
<emOne_> yes that is the one
<Werner> Usually gives the source back. Hex values though but works
<emOne_> it didn't work on my box
<emOne_> I had other people try it too
<emOne_> and they had the same (bad) results
<Werner> Or it is some very old hacked together crap what many vendors do to save cost.
<emOne_> yes there were a lot of things that weren't working properly
<emOne_> it has some mediatek wifi/bluetooth chip
<emOne_> and it took forever to find the proper source code for the driver
<Werner> If there is any at all
<emOne_> a few people and I searched for it ,, and someone stumbled onto a github page for a singleboard computer that also had that wifi chip
<emOne_> but only the wifi part of the driver worked
<emOne_> not the bluetooth
<emOne_> the arm device world is a strange one
<emOne_> ok updated my dtc from 1.5.1 to 1.6.0
<emOne_> I will try later to decrypt that device tree file
<emOne_> the last time I tried was in february
<emOne_> just before 1.6.0 came along
<emOne_> thanks for all the help
<emOne_> I got to go
<emOne_> see you later everyone

The scripts are not public yet but I plan on cleaning up and building a pipeline that I plan to opensource. Well be on my github, same username. (3s ago)
