<sajattack[m]> _florent_: did you say it's not possible to run sdram over 50mhz on litex or did I misunderstand? https://github.com/enjoy-digital/litex/issues/398#issuecomment-590249484

<_florent_> sajattack[m]: for the SDRAM at > 50MHz, it's not necessarily the SDRAM that is limiting, but the system frequency. With the current implementation, if you want to run the SDRAM at 100MHz, the CPU will also run at 100MHz, which is not possible on low-end devices. That's why it would be nice to add support for SDRAM running at 2x the system frequency. Can you create an issue in LiteX-boards for your usecase? it will be
<_florent_> probably easier to discuss. Also for the lto issue, it's probably related to https://github.com/enjoy-digital/litex/pull/401, can do a test before this merge and eventually create an issue in LiteX?
<sajattack[m]> yes that's the commit causing it, I'll file an issue

<sajattack[m]> also sent a pr your way for an arch linux issue
<sajattack[m]> _florent_:
<sajattack[m]> also it seems de10nano vexriscv passes timing at 100mhz but I'm still having issues
<sajattack[m]> I don't really have a specific usecase other than "make it go faster"
<sajattack[m]> might it help to run either the sdram faster than the cpu or the cpu faster than the sdram?

<_florent_> sajattack[m]: thanks for the LTO issue, i'll look at that. For the SDRAM at 100MHz, i will do more tests at this freq on boards with SDRAM.
<sajattack[m]> thanks

<somlo> _florent_: so I tried two different SanDisk Ultra 32G cards, and a transcend 2G card, and they all got stuck during `sdtest 8`; However, the last one I tried, a SanDisk Ultra PLUS 64G card, worked (i.e., it completed the test)!
<somlo> so litesdcard in its current form appears "sensitive" to the underlying media, probably some unimplemented corner case or insufficiently tight adherence to some obscure part of the spec
<somlo> but at least I have one card model on which it works, and I can try and figure out what the difference may be...
<_florent_> somlo: ok thanks, this would need to be investigated. Could you create an issue in litesdcard repo with the information you have?
<somlo> _florent_: will do
<somlo> _florent_: no issues tab available in LiteSDCard, so I opened it against LiteX: https://github.com/enjoy-digital/litex/issues/406

<sajattack[m]> is there any interest to enable the compressed extension for vexriscv? makes it more binary compatible I think... a lot of things are imac
