me :p
<Tony_mac32>
haha
<Tony_mac32>
my build system just tried to use kernel 5.4 for rockchip64 next
<Tony_mac32>
which was bumped to 5.10. So figuring that out. It pulled it right this time, wtf
* archetech_
is compiling LFS on a Pentium 3 733 Mhz
<Tony_mac32>
XD
<Tony_mac32>
nice
<archetech_>
nice and slow
<Tony_mac32>
I'm trying to fork boards over to mainline ATF so we can quit having a rockchip circus going on
<archetech_>
lima just got a gpu shader for mali
<Tony_mac32>
I also have a Tinkerboard 2 I need to figure out the regulators on, they are "same but different" compared to what's supported already

lol tried mainline ATF on Renegade and the HDMI out was going bonkers. How that's related I'm not completely sure.
<IgorPec>
why not :)
<Tony_mac32>
XD
<Tony_mac32>
well, we use mainline ATF on the rock64, so I was a bit surprised
<IgorPec>
exceptional rock64 quality :)

Which ubuntu release is packaged with armbian image (desktop or server) ?
<Werner>
Hm you should ask at Ubuntu's place for this because this is upstream. Armbian just provides a modified kernel to allow Ubuntu userspace to run on your board with only minimal adjustments to the OS itself
<pmjdebruijn>
ch007m: that's not normal ubuntu
<pmjdebruijn>
presumably that's some feature poor file browser
<pmjdebruijn>
ch007m: if you'd use thunar/nautilus it would probably works as you'd expect
<Werner>
dont know what the name of the default file manager of xfce is
<pmjdebruijn>
thunar
<ch007m>
Nautilus dont display them like thunar
<pmjdebruijn>
you've already tried both
<pmjdebruijn>
maybe you're having a udisks issue?
<pmjdebruijn>
those volues did get automounted right? you didn't mount them manually?
<ch007m>
I tried both and for all of them I had to open the filesystem and navigate to the mounted paths -> /mnt/dabou ...
<pmjdebruijn>
but are they automounted?
<pmjdebruijn>
are /usr/lib/udisks2/udisksd /usr/libexec/gvfs-udisks2-volume-monitor both running?
<ch007m>
I edited the /etc/fstab file to add the UUID of the SSD and external disks to be mounted on /mnt/dabout and /mnt/dabou2. Did after a mount -a. They mounted well and are still mounted if a reboot
<ch007m>
Give me one second
<pmjdebruijn>
not sure if fstab is valid for showing up there
<pmjdebruijn>
oh wait
<pmjdebruijn>
I think only /media shows up where you want it
<pmjdebruijn>
or something along those lines
<pmjdebruijn>
(these are educated guesses though)
<ch007m>
hahahah. I will then mount them under /media then and make a new test
<IgorPec>
and there it should be possible to tweak things easier
<IgorPec>
previously it was more or less hardcoded
<pmjdebruijn>
xubuntu has some nice default settings for xfce
<pmjdebruijn>
like a theme etc, that makes it feels like a coherent modern desktop
<pmjdebruijn>
functionally it's not that different, but its really that spit and polish that xfce is sorely lacking
<IgorPec>
i know what you mean
<pmjdebruijn>
armbian would probably do itself a favor by using xubuntu-desktop (metapackage)
<IgorPec>
our community lack this kind of people / interest
drobo_00 has joined #armbian
<IgorPec>
we tend to stick to vanilla if possible
<IgorPec>
to be easy to match with debian
<IgorPec>
we also have our own tweaks and jumping on xubntu just like that .. .mith bring another problems
<pmjdebruijn>
sure it would only benefit the ubuntu builds
<IgorPec>
what we need generally is someone(s) to play with this
<IgorPec>
armbian is hardware layer and build system in 90%
<pmjdebruijn>
though greybird-gtk-theme/shimmer-themes might be available on debian too
<pmjdebruijn>
those two do much of the heavy lifting
<IgorPec>
i think you should join #armbian-devel and help rneese around this :)
<IgorPec>
i have little know-how about theming and desktop in general
<pmjdebruijn>
sorry I'm not interested at this point
* pmjdebruijn
is just a lurker
<Werner>
bummer
<ch007m>
Using /media resolves my problem. thanks. I can see now `dabou2`
<pmjdebruijn>
and there was much rejoycing
<IgorPec>
ok

Werner I avoided cracking a joke about air-cooled engines being the best German engines. ;) (I'm still grouchy about that Koeln V6 timing chain system and plastic thermostat housing) XD
<ch007m>
Where can I find information to configure armbian + rockpro64 to hear sound using the jack connector ?

<grae>
ch007m: I suppose the easiest thing to do is to run alsamixer, make sure the sound card is recognized, and your output isn't muted?
<[TheBug]>
ch007m: again thats a generic Ubuntu / Debian thing you should be able to look it up in their docs without an issue. You need to change the audio sink --if you using desktop this can often be done from the volume control app

@DieZuckerbude (Ben Zucker 🍰): Enabled @armbian's OC dtb overlay to push the #pinebook pro's #RK3399 to 1.5/2.0GHz. From my guts feel it greatly improves response time on desktop environment. Did not put a heavy load to it yet but for the moment it seems to perform better than the StationPC Station P1. https://tinyurl.com/y23e769r (10s ago)

hmmm, the HDMI shenanigans on the renegade last night may have been a fluke. I just did a rebuilf to capture some video of it and it's gone
<IgorPec>
gone, hdmi out ?

Hi Everyone
<Luca4>
I am new here
<Luca4>
I was struggling with a Pine64 Touch Screen problem
<Luca4>
and wrote a message to the forum
<Luca4>
for help
<Luca4>
In the meantime I found a solution
<IgorPec>
write it there
<Luca4>
but I cannot post it since I just joined and my messages are limiterd
<Luca4>
haha
<Luca4>
sure thing!
<Luca4>
my username there is lucapinello
<Luca4>
this is the solution
<Luca4>
Ok I think I fixed the touchscreen!
<Luca4>
This is what I did:
<Luca4>
0) Attach a mouse and keyboard so you can type command while the Desktop is running.
<Luca4>
1)Open a termonal and type:
<Luca4>
sudo apt-get install libts-bin
<Luca4>
2) Calibrate with this command:
<Luca4>
sudo ts_calibrate
<Luca4>
3) Put these lines in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/99-touch.conf

I installed Armbian on a TV box the other day but I already forgot how
<PPA>
IIRC I did a command line search for .sh files
<PPA>
find / -type f -name "*.ssh"
<PPA>
or something
<PPA>
There should be a script *somewhere* in a directory that's obvious once you find the file
<PPA>
in a “why didn't I think to look there” way
<grae>
that find command looks right? maybe use '*.sh' instead?
<PPA>
er, yes
<PPA>
typo, sorry
<fASE-2>
i'll try that out. thanks
<grae>
'ls -lt' or 'ls -lt | head -n <number>' should give you a time sorted list of recently changed files in a single directory?
<fASE-2>
you don't know where it is though?
<fASE-2>
there's a platform_install in /usr/lib/u-boot/ is that it?
<fASE-2>
i can't find it. i'll try the debian distro instead of ubuntu. thanks anyways

I don't really know why the ATF would mess up the HDMI is the other thing
<IgorPec>
can't test but yeah

i have a few, just not renegad
<IgorPec>
