@JaSndBwoy (sndbwoy): @armbian Yeah I was not expecting so much data, but the whole point was to share some bandwidth, I guess it's beyond my expectations. I need to find a bigger hard drive i promise nothing but i will try. It's like a project in the project, and i will need to throttle the bandwidthh i guess https://tinyurl.com/y36c3g2q (6s ago)
<ArmbianTwitter>
@DieZuckerbude (Ben Zucker π°): @JaSndBwoy @armbian Actually it is not that much bandwidth needed. I have two independent servers 1GBit each hooked up with transmission and is barely noticeable. Little more when new images/packages are pushed obviously. https://tinyurl.com/y6qpna73 (8s ago)

hello all. I was just wondering, I have a NAS based on an AnnapurnaLabs SoC. Looks like Alpine V2. I am able to get to uboot and even able to load an image, but the boot process fails and the board resets.
<codingpanic>
Ultimately, I'd like to get armbian running on this. DO any of you all have experience with uboot and maybe I'm being totally stupid here?
<Werner>
never heard of them. Anyway for u-boot there is a dedicated irc channel #u-boot. Maybe they can help

@NicoD99364191 (NicoD): @armbian @JaSndBwoy Now I got enough storage. Got the Odroid HC4. π But datalimit of 500GB/month. π¨That's not going to work. They said unlimited internet, yeah, at 250kb/s maybe. I can, and must add 500GB for 5euro extra a month, but no more. https://tinyurl.com/y5vkykmy (18s ago)
<Dezo>
Now I'm asking since, I've tried to change trip_point_0_temp to some low value, and my HC4 almost flown away :-)
<[TheBug]>
right, I am assuming still based on his reply that the code needed to watch the fan / turn it on / off isn't default available and would likely need ported from the Ordoid image it's self if you wanted it to work
<Dezo>
However I have no idea how whole thermal zone with cooling devices etc works. So I don't know if that is just some kind of correct configuration so fan is not 0 or 100% etc...
<[TheBug]>
in otherwords I would assume that code to run/operate the fan isn't something included with Armbian so you would need to implement that in some way -- maybe they have plan at some point to add to our images but not there yet?
drobo_01 has joined #armbian
<Dezo>
Understand, that sounds reasonable. It's good that it's not critical since my HC4 is running in pretty good temperatures even it's closed in the cabinet
<[TheBug]>
I mean if you can have it go on and come off already from gpio
<[TheBug]>
you could write a simple script
<[TheBug]>
that if it detect SoC temp > x then run fan for 5 minutes, then stop
<lanefu>
there should be a script for helios4 you could borrow

while it won't allow variable speed, least you could make sure it is cooled

actualy even hysteresis values works when I was on the border, it turned on/off

lanefu: so for some reason I spent a few days restoring an old Toshiba Portege 3500 series Tablet Laptop, Pentium 3 1333Mhz w 512MB ram - running Debian 10 i386 on it, got it loading rootfs from USB stick and soon a IDE to SDcard converter I ordered
<[TheBug]>
had to replace the keyboard
<lanefu>
dude that's pretty awesome tho
<[TheBug]>
imaged the original 20GB hard drive, suprised it still works
<lanefu>
thats a beast in old world terms
<[TheBug]>
its actually pretty neat cause it's one of the first '

it sucks at being a tablet, but it's cool to see the technology
