<archetech> no mkscr?
<lanefu> nothing else to change
<lanefu> armbianEnv.txt is dynamically loaded from u-boot
<archetech> ok on other distros you have make the change then rewrite boot.scr
<tonymac32> we do it better. ;-)
<archetech> ok seems so
<archetech> got the le potato running yet?
<lanefu> not yet
<lanefu> the problem is i have all these SBCs

<archetech> no
<archetech> I dont get this output either
<archetech> why changing a digit gives such diff and missing stuff
<archetech> did the boot a few times same thing out
<archetech> ok got a bettter log ill update it

<Werner__> Any idea why chroot is failing for me? chroot: failed to run command '/bin/bash': Exec format error
<archetech> run echo $SHELL
<Werner__> /bin/bash
<archetech> ok its not dash
<Werner__> I think some dependencies are broken. Was there a way to force the build script to check if all dependencies are installed?
<archetech> think os I only used it once so far
<archetech> so
<archetech> can just do a apt install build-essential se if thats ok
<Werner__> Well release upgrade from 16.04 to 18.04 seem not to do everything perfectly right....which was to be expected I guess ^^
<archetech> notorious
<anenigma> I realise that hardware support is not what armbian does, but does anyone know a good way of tracking how well a board (ie my odroid c2) should be supported? for instance, i get hdmi but only 2 channel audio in recent mainline kernel, I don't know if this is me not configuring correctly, or if its lack of driver support
<Werner__> Well I think I fixed it by reinstalling the qemu-user-static package...lets see if it runs entirely through
<Werner__> Lol. It fixed it. Usually I am out of luck trying fixing stuff ^^
lykt has quit [Quit: leaving]
<Werner__> anenigma, Good question. Well you could search the mainline kernel commits for expressions like "c2" and see what has changed or added. Though this does not necessarily say something about armbians current support state of the board. Armbian using other Linux sources with user patches as well. So the support using an Armbian kernel can be one year ahead of mainline....
<Werner__> Check this for example. https://github.com/megous/linux/tree/orange-pi-5.6 For sunxi and sunxi64 Armbian relys on megis sources for the dev branch. It is currently 240 commits ahead of mainline. Tons of stuff that did not reach mainline yet.

<tonymac32> anenigma the audio subsystem of the Meson GX is incomplete in mainline, we have some patches from Bay Libre that were for 4.19 that gave some audio capability
<tonymac32> (Meson GX being the S905)
<tonymac32> However 5.7 may fix this (or earlier if I backport it): https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/11380627/
<tonymac32> Jerome Authored the patchset for 4.19 used by Bay Libre/Libre Computer.
<tonymac32> This would apply to S905 (GX), S905X and S805X (GXL), and *possibly* S912 (GXM)
