<Tonymac32> oh jeeze

<Tonymac32> haha you
<lanefu> Ha
<Tonymac32> I was curious if you'd played with any audio on your ESP32 board
<lanefu> Yah i accidentally fell asleep like after dinner
<lanefu> Nope, definitely have it on my mind after our conversation about the onboard dac
<Tonymac32> I need to make a tutorial on what is what on there, including why I put solder jumper pads
<lanefu> Im glad to be a tutorial guinea pig
<lanefu> Dude that guy
<lanefu> Does crazy stuff
<Tonymac32> In case you were curious about the DAC's capabilities
<Tonymac32> and AM transmitter lol
<lanefu> Man. Belongs in preper bin now
<lanefu> Step 0 make prepper bin
<Tonymac32> hahahahaha
<Tonymac32> I mean an AM transmitter can be made of nearly anything
<Tonymac32> in any case you can get pretty close to straight piping the DACS to the TRS jack
<Tonymac32> C12/C13 are still in the pipeline though
<Tonymac32> On the audio path I have an LPF to kill off the worst of the DAC noise, and then the big DC blocking caps
<lanefu> C12,c13?
<Tonymac32> the capacitors from the low pass filter
<Tonymac32> the only way to get them out of the signal path is to remove them entirely

<pseudonim> Hi! It seems there is some particularities on the Rpi4 ARM CPU (BCM2711 - Cortex-A72) that may be the root causes of unability to exploit Buffer Over Flow (got a SIGILL when reach the target set by the payload on Link Register stack backup) Is there any ARM architecture expert here available to help ?
<pseudonim> If someone has a working Buffer Over Flow example on Rpi4 (has to be a Raspberry Pi 4, it is important), I'm interested to get it !

<Werner> pseudonim, armbian does not support rpi devices so chances are low that somebody in here knows something about that case.

<Heisath> Hey
<igorp_> hej
<Heisath> I can now update you on testing boards if you want
<igorp_> perhaps just add it to the thread on the forum so it doesn't get lost
<igorp_> i only briefly checked repository
<igorp_> in short - how are things?
<Heisath> Hijax will update the thread
<igorp_> ok, so we are reaedy to order new batch ? :)
<Heisath> Real short: Things are looking good. Hijax's USB2SD idea has made a lot of stuff easier (mainly addressing sd cards from master).
<Heisath> Hijax is/has ordered a few units from JLCPCB for him and me to test.
<Heisath> so once these arrive we both will do some full system tests and then can order more for the community.
<igorp_> ok, what this usb2sd means? what is different from previous design*
<igorp_> btw. i am having lot of out of office this month
<Heisath> Previous design, had just connect the SD card to a master sd card slot, so for example your host/master sbc would have had to boot from usb/emmc or something so you can use the sd slot for master sd.
<Heisath> Or use some USB sd card adapter in master sbc and connect sd there.
<Heisath> New design has some controller on board; so sd cards get directly connected to slaves (via their sd slots) but connection to master is translated to USB.
<Heisath> Easier to use and less trouble with long cable length (for master connection at least).
<igorp_> and no more spi mode?
<Heisath> correct. For all connections (master & slave) no more spi
<igorp_> aha, but in this case we need different sdcaed connector, right?
<igorp_> a proper one
<Heisath> Because SPI mode would have needed device tree changes on the slaves (problematic because we like to test normal builds) and difficult to use on master sbc.
<igorp_> yeah, that's not very convinient for us
<Heisath> Yeah we now need full sdio adapter. But this also gets us better speed so performance testing via that testing board might be possible.,
<igorp_> great
<Heisath> Hijax has made adapters with full sdio mode and properly matched wiring length.
<igorp_> nice, this will be a proper tool now
<igorp_> software wise, complications?
<Heisath> Dont think so. Serial and power will be unchanged.
<igorp_> switching SD?
<Heisath> SD card will now use some STM32 microcontroller. But Hijax says USB2SD is easy
<Heisath> I am still a bit worried about the switching. The lack of commercial tools capable of muxing several sd cards...
<igorp_> ok, than fine.
<igorp_> so a prototype has to be made and see?
<Heisath> The analog switches we are using now should be up for the job (fast enough and bidirectional according to the datasheet). But SDIO mode is still difficult.
Dr{Who} has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<Heisath> Yeah that is what Hijax has ordered (about 4 boards) as prototypes.
Dr{Who} has joined #armbian
<Heisath> I dont know how long JLCPCB takes to make & ship pre-assembled to EU.
<igorp_> already ordered?
<Heisath> Not sure. Either that or in the process
<igorp_> i have no experiences, hard to tell how long this takes

<Guest28471> hi everybody
<Guest28471> I've installed imy odroid c2 the latest armbian image "5.6.15-meson64"
<Guest28471> I've tried to install again teamviewer but I can only access from my pc without interacting with the SBC
<Guest28471> with the 18.04 ubuntu based image I was able to do everithing as usual, but now something went wrong
<Guest28471> I've also checked settings but it seems all ok
<IgorPec> stop for a while. which image is not working , focal?
xecuter has joined #armbian
<Guest28471> both focal and buster
<Guest28471> same issue
<Guest28471> http://ix.io/2r8J here is the log
<IgorPec> but works on bionic?
<IgorPec> i am not interesting in logs since they only tell low level stuff
<Guest28471> with the prevoius image yes was working
<IgorPec> then use it
<IgorPec> we provide different images exactly for this reason
<Guest28471> so I will not have to update?
<IgorPec> why should you? both are LTS supported
<IgorPec> and after some time Ubuntu bugs will be fixed to the degree that also Teamviewer will work
<Guest28471> The system told me to do so..and I did it that's all
<IgorPec> what system told you?
<Guest28471> i mean,the previous armbian os..there was a notification saying the option to upgrade,so i did it
<IgorPec> but that's for kernel upgrade
<IgorPec> that should not have effects on this
<IgorPec> upgrade from Bionic to Focal we don't recommend nor support
<IgorPec> its a mess
<Guest28471> I saw it,and that's why I did a clean install of the newest one
<IgorPec> general this is good but if your software doesn't work and you won't it operation on new system ... we can't help on our cost
<Guest28471> But for my situation I guess it's better to come back as you suggested me
<IgorPec> yes, use bionic
<IgorPec> fixing it on focal is possible but it is your expense.

<martinayotte> IgorPec: I found the culprit on Micro-A20, it is not the PMIC itself, but all I2C ports that were broken.
<martinayotte> I've reverted the Samuel Holland patch included in Megi 5.7.y branch : https://github.com/megous/linux/commit/11cc9574163eee4959d5eba96351ca0596e11ab4
<martinayotte> The strange thing is that this commit doesn't affect A64/H3/H5 but only A20 ... So I don't know if I should revert it offically, but it not present in Linus Mainline either ...
<IgorPec> hi
<IgorPec> but is this controller related to sunxi?
<martinayotte> It is kind of generic IP used by several SoC :
