<rneese_>
working on conky now
<rneese_>
well work to be done on conky but its nice
<Tonymac32>
hmmm, this Tinker u-boot kernel death thing is bothering me
<Tonymac32>
on boot, fsck says everything is A-OK on the device, and then it can't find any scripts and you never get out of initramfs
Hokedli has joined #armbian
<lanefu>
have a hammer handy?
<Tonymac32>
and the next boot it says everything is jacked.
<Tonymac32>
2 sd card, 2 writers, same behavior. I'm now building a image with the current commits to see if it is actually a kernel problem
<Tonymac32>
U-boot is loading everything and handing it over to initramfs with no complaints.
<Tonymac32>
on first boot I get "/dev/mmcblk0p1: clean, 9264/179168 files, 588643/715776 blocks
<Tonymac32>
then "can't execute '/sbin/init': structure needs cleaning
<Tonymac32>
so...
<Tonymac32>
I've also change power supplies
<Tonymac32>
just because
<Tonymac32>
so like I said, I'll see if a current build is OK and go from there, I only changed U-Boot, no other adjustments
<Tonymac32>
other than being able to cook food on them, they are nice little boards, I'd rather keep them properly maintained than not. XD
<Tonymac32>
I ordered 3 acrylic lasercut cases for RPi shaped boards, I have recieved 10
<lanefu>
hahaha
<Tonymac32>
sorry 6 ordered, 10 recieved
<lanefu>
oh
<Tonymac32>
I have used 3
<lanefu>
well bonus lol
<Tonymac32>
each one came with a little screwdriver
<Tonymac32>
so I'll have a drawer of them
<lanefu>
OMG i want the world to stop giving me free shitty screwdrivers
<Tonymac32>
HAHAHAHAHA
<Tonymac32>
I have some AC-Delco ones that are like the National instruments ones
* Tonymac32
starts bagging up all his shitty screwdrivers to send to Lanefu
<lanefu>
workbench equivalent of TPing my house man
<lanefu>
making decent progress on PBP... have firmwares fo rbluetooth now.. and brightness keys working
<lanefu>
oh and touchpad tweaks
<Tonymac32>
sweet
<Tonymac32>
I had 4.4 working in like a day, and then I don't know what happened and it gathered dust. :'(
<Tonymac32>
mainline was angry about the screen I think
<Tonymac32>
hmmm, my second build machine (my daughter's second hand Dell Optiplex) still has a spinning platter, this build is taking longer than hoped
<lanefu>
haha
<Tonymac32>
it is an i7-3770 like my normal build machine, but I have an NVMe and 16 GB RAM, she has 8 GB and a 5400 RPM rust cylinder
<Tonymac32>
oh, mine is liquid cooled and overclocked as well
<Tonymac32>
(former gaming machine)
<Tonymac32>
OK, I shouldn't be mad about 38 minutes on a first build
<Tonymac32>
(First for Tinker, not first for build script on machine)
<lanefu>
no thats pretty good
<lanefu>
cuz half of that is just getting deps and build cache
<Tonymac32>
right
<lanefu>
like if i have a fresh run on my 48 thread box its 21 minutes
<lanefu>
s/48/40
<ArmbianHelper>
lanefu meant to say: like if i have a fresh run on my 40 thread box its 21 minutes
<Tonymac32>
lol
<Tonymac32>
the machine is in our family room, my wife asked why it was sitting over there grinding away like a maniac last night. :D
<Tonymac32>
My son has the 18" Dell XPS tablet from ca. 2014, it isn't building anything. :P

@lanefu kernel compiles if you disable EXTRAWIFI and bootlogo
<nekomancer[m]>
how to disable bootlogo?
<IgorPec>
- if linux-version compare "${version}" ge 5.4; then
<IgorPec>
+ if linux-version compare "${version}" ge 5.4 && linux-version compare "${version}" lt 5.8.10; then
<IgorPec>
lib/compilation-prepare.sh
<nekomancer[m]>
tricky
<bd1308>
which file do you make the change in? I'm also trying to work on pinebook-pro stuff
