Haha. Invision fixed the acp and suggested to apply the patch for the acp. I tried doing that and guess what? It rendered the acp to be unusable again ^^
<IgorPec>
but they have only read only access i think
<Werner>
Would not make much sense because this way they could not fix things.
<IgorPec>
not sure
<IgorPec>
what was the end resoult , perhaps its r/w
<IgorPec>
we have lots of issues around this (simple) problem :)
<Werner>
If it works out to make them fix issues it is good enough.

IgorPec, when updating the forums to 4.5 did you need to provide ftp access in the acp in order to process the update?

<IgorPec>
no
<IgorPec>
so far we never needed ftp

Hm interesting. They pointed me to a different link in the acp to apply the mentioned patch. Could not proceed due to the root cause which was lacking license access. Waiting for their answer on this.
<Werner>
Yes. I guess this shall prevent the acp from crashing

<IgorPec>

<Werner>
rneese, need an irc bouncer?
<rneese>
no I need to review route and I think after 6 years its starting to fail
<Werner>
ok
<rneese>
which is funny its a a/g/n/c routher
<rneese>
and running ddwrt
<rneese>
so it should work fine but it gets hot and power cycles
<buZz>
rneese: i've seen powersupplies for router fail after many years, dropping in voltage
<buZz>
which might mean your router is getting the wrong voltage for operation
<buZz>
-or- could just be a dirty heatsink ofcourse :P
<rneese>
well I took it apart back in feb and cleaned it with can of air and cleaned the case very little dirt in it
<rneese>
I will grab a vm and test the power brick
